Mary Emma Poesy Crumley of Kendrick and a former Potlatch resident died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center from cancer.  She was 86.

Mary was born October 28, 1923 at Viola, Idaho to Harry H. and Rosie Mae Gerber Carlson.  She was the middle of three children. She and Allie Poesy were married on April 17, 1941 in St. Maries, ID, and they settled in Potlatch to raise their four children. She loved cooking for her family and friends, was an avid gardener and loved to watch things grow.  She will be remembered especially for her roses.

Mary is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Phil Southwick in Kendrick and her children and spouses, Lawrence Poesy of Culdesac, ID, Leota “Josie” and Jack Moses of Elk City, ID, Clarence and Lynn Poesy of Potlatch and Lola “Bobbie” and John Leinhard of Princeton. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Allie in 1976, her brothers, Clarence and Russell Carlson, a grandson and one great grandson.

There will be a viewing at Short’s Funeral Chapel from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Monday.  The graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moscow with Rev. Kathy L. Kramer of the Elmore United Methodist Church of Potlatch officiating. A potluck dinner will follow at the Princeton Community Center.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Kendrick Ambulance Fund or the Disabled American Veterans.
