Patricia Ann Sturman of Moscow went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 19, 2010 at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow. She was 77.
Pat was born November 11, 1932, the third of four daughters born to Oral Faye and Phoebe May Hull Harris of Colfax, WA. After graduation from Colfax High School, Pat began work as a telephone operator. She met and fell in love with Bernal Riley Sturman of Deary, ID and they were married on October 22, 1955 at Colfax. They moved to Moscow and have resided there ever since. Pat and Bernal had three daughters, Cathy Knecht (Dave) of Spokane, WA; Linda Brummett (Brad) of Boise, ID and Nancy Bresky (Waine) of Exeter, RI.
After their children were grown, Pat went to work as the switchboard operator at the Latah County Courthouse. She loved her twenty years at the courthouse and made many friends during that time. She genuinely loved to be with people and she was a friend to many during those years.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, Bernal, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law and her sisters, Virginia Repp of Colfax and Elaine Schauble of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Olive Faye Gillespie of Pullman, WA. Pat was blessed with seven grandchildren that she dearly loved; Michael Knecht (Rachel), Ryan Knecht and Scott Knecht, all of Spokane, Kelly Bowman (Scott) and Jenny Allen (Dave) of Boise and Sarah and Sam Bresky of Exeter, RI. They, along with two great grandsons gave her many years of joy.
There will be a viewing at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Moscow Cemetery. A reception and time of fellowship will follow at their home.
