Dallas Groseclose
6/7/40 - 7/16/10

Dallas Eugene Groseclose of Moscow died Friday morning, July 16, 2010 at his home. He was 70.

Dallas was born June 7, 1940 at Juliaetta to Ausker Dallas "Dal" and Grace M. Kitchen Groseclose. He grew up and attended school at Juliaetta and Kendrick. Dallas joined the US Army in 1959 where he earned his GED and served in Texas and Germany before transferring to the Army Reserves.


He and Connie Duff were married on June 19, 1961 at Lewiston. Dallas worked for Darrell Kirby Dairy Farm for two years before going to work for Potlatch Corporation in the research department. He took classes at Lewis Clark Normal School where he earned proficiencies in several areas in the machinist field. He moved to Moscow in 1974 to work as a machinist at WSU and to pastor at Full Gospel Lighthouse, east of Moscow in the Joel area. Dallas retired from WSU after 28 years, but continued to pastor at the church until the time of his death.

Dallas enjoyed flying and working on airplanes, cars, tractors and "jeepin".

Surviving are his wife, Connie, at their home, a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Jill Groseclose of Troy and a daughter, Lisa Tucker of Post Falls. ID and the grandchildren, Hope and Michael Tucker and Libby and Dillon Groseclose. He also leaves his sisters, Daisy Cochran of Kansas, Shannon Giese of Coeur d'Alene, Nancy and Lee Swanson of Deary, Alice and Bud Hanson of Juliaetta and Arta Lohman of Juliaetta and his brothers, Frank and Elaine Groseclose and Stan and Kathy Groseclose, both of Juliaetta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Short’s Funeral Chapel, Moscow with Rev. Kathy Lee Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at the Moscow Cemetery and a reception will be at the Latah County Fairgrounds after the graveside service.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Moscow Ambulance Fund.
